Santa Barbara Dogs, Inc. is a no kill no-adoption shelter that is the only no kill no-adoption shelter in California. Santa Barbara Dogs, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and as such, is supported by donations and grants. We do not receive funding from the government. Our goal is to help animals find their new homes and to serve all animals in need. We are a safe place for animals to live and wt for their new families.

How You Can Help

Santa Barbara Dogs, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. If you would like to make a donation, please send it to: Santa Barbara Dogs, Inc. PO Box 805 Santa Barbara, CA 93106.

If you know of a local non-profit animal shelter, you can also send a check to Santa Barbara Dogs, Inc. and ask them to forward it to the shelter you have chosen.

You can also purchase food or cat or dog food from our local pet food store, KIND, and send the donations to our address. They will deduct the donation as you purchase your food.

You can also send us your gently-used clothes, books, toys, or other supplies, and we will take care of all the shipping and processing.

When your furry friend has found a forever home, they will receive a certificate and a letter telling the story of your precious pet and thanking you for choosing to love them. This makes a perfect gift for those special people in your life.

Puppies: $300 (for 12 months to age 2, the second set of vaccines and deworming)

Adult Dogs: $30 per month

It is important to choose a good match. If the dog you have chosen is not a good fit, we will find you another dog that will be a good fit.

You may find yourself feeling anxious as the day for the adoption date arrives. This is normal. We understand that you are nervous, and we want to ease your worries. We will make every effort to accommodate you on the day of your new dog’s adoption. We will send your new friend home with a volunteer on the day of the adoption, or we will call you as soon as your dog is ready for you to pick up.

If you would like to bring your new dog to your local vet’s office for a checkup, please let us know. The vet is not responsible for your new dog’s well-being after you have adopted it. We would like to give your new friend a chance to bond with a vet and enjoy some pampering.
